A visa is still mandatory to travel to France and to all Schengen countries

The French Embassy kindly reminds UAE Nationals that they still need a visa to travel to Schengen countries, including France. If the recent approval of the European Parliament has paved the way to allow visa free travel for UAE nationals to Schengen countries, this waiving is not implemented yet as further legal arrangements have to be made by all countries concerned in order to implement in their national procedures the European decision . This process may require several months and so far, a visa remains mandatory.

Visas for residents in the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of France in Dubai :
Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.

Please be aware of long processing time for visa applications during the high season from May to August 2014

Due to the peak in the number of visa applications starting from spring and to avoid disappointment or last minute surprises, the visa section requests travelers to anticipate their visa applications for short-stay and long-stay (students for example). These applications can be received up to 90 days before the scheduled departure date.
For all applications received during high season, it may take at least a couple of weeks delay before getting a fingerprint appointment at VFS Center.
The Consulate General of France invites travelers to take into account this situation, and tries to facilitate at best the flow of visa applications during this period to ensure better service.

Thank you for your understanding !
